Indigent Medical Care Program

The Indigent Medical Care Program addresses the need for quality medical care for those low-income households struck by illness and are unable to afford treatment due to a lack of insurance coverage. Indigent Medical Care staff coordinates efforts with Vigo county physicians, specialists, hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and testing facilities to provide service to the low-income households at no cost. Upon occasion, the Indigent Medical Care Program has been able to provide limited assistance for prescription medication through the generosity of private donations to the program.  Household income eligibility is based on 125% of the Federal poverty guidelines.
