Foster Grandparent Program

The Foster Grandparent Program is dedicated to providing low-income senior citizens the opportunity to serve as volunteers with meaningful assignments at local non-profit organizations while working with special needs children. Foster Grandparent volunteers must be 60 years of age or older, physically fit to serve, and volunteer 20 hours per week. Benefits include non-taxable stipends, transportation, meals, and an annual physical.  Household income eligibility is based on 125% of the Federal poverty guidelines.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program matches senior volunteers with identified community needs.  Volunteers provide service in public schools, hospitals, food pantries, homeless shelters, humane societies, offices, and businesses throughout Vigo, Clay, and Putman counties.  There are no income guideline restrictions for volunteers.
