Western Indiana Community Action Agency, Inc. provides intensive case management services through our Family Development Program. This program is designed to promote self-sufficiency for families by providing counseling services, referrals, and advocacy to empower families to set goals and work to attain them. Twelve life areas are developed with this program including housing, income, employment, adult education, child development/education, family relations/domestic violence, energy, transportation, support systems, health, nutrition, and substance abuse.  Household income guidelines are based on 200% of the Federal poverty guidelines.

Western Indiana Community Action Agency, Inc. is an active member of the Vigo County Wheels to Work Coalition. This Program assists working families participating in self-sufficiency programs to purchase a reliable vehicle. Collaborative efforts with local agencies and banks make it possible for these working families to secure a loan, vehicle insurance, and build a good credit standing. Participants of the Western Indiana Community Action Agency, Inc. Family Development Program currently employed are eligible to apply for the Wheels to Work Program.

Vigo County Coalition members include, Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Central Indiana, Inc., Ivy Tech State College, Terre Haute First National Bank, Terre Haute Housing Authority, Terre Haute Savings Bank, United Way of the Wabash Valley, Vigo County Division of Family & Children, Vigo County School Corporation, Wabash Valley Goodwill Industries, and Western Indiana Community Action Agency, Inc.
